DOI Occupational Health and Safety Training

Note to Department of the Interior employees: All Interior employees who can, should take the mandatory training courses listed below through DOILEARN, Interior's online learning management system. The downloadable version of the course is an alternative delivery method intended for new employees and for those employees having problems accessing the courses on DOILEARN. Questions about accessing DOILEARN can be addressed to your bureau DOI Learn Data Steward (DOI DOILEARN portal with Bureau Contact List).

If you take a CD-ROM version of the course, you must print your completion certificate, register for the course in DOILEARN, and ask your supervisor to manually mark your record as "Completed" in DOILEARN. This will ensure proper credit is received and noted on your transcript.

The following downloadable course files are designed for use on CD-ROM, but can be loaded on a personal computer.

PLEASE PRINT OUT AND CAREFULLY FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USE OF THESE FILES.

Instructions for Using the zipped files

The files contained in each of these zipped folders can be run from a PC or copied to a CD-ROM and played from CD-ROM. For most users, there will be no sound unless a CD-ROM is used.

After clicking on the link, be sure to Save the file to a location on your PC (DO NOT OPEN!).

Once the zipped file is saved, it must be extracted. Right click on the file name and select Extract All. You can accept the default location and the files will be placed in a folder with the same name in the same location on your PC.

From either CD-ROM or directly from your PC, you can click the "start" file and follow directions to play the course. Detailed instructions are contained in the "Instructions" MS Word document.

To copy to CD-ROM, open the extracted folder, and the folder within that folder. You should see two folders (courses and lms) and four other files. Copy these two folders and the four files to the CD-ROM.

Please note: If you experience any problems with download, please contact the DOI University Helpdesk at 202-208-6278 or via email at doiuonline@ios.doi.gov.

Instructions for reporting completions vary within each bureau and in the Office of the Secretary. If you do not have instructions for the use of CD-ROM's from your bureau, please check with your DOI Learn Data Steward (DOI DOILEARN portal with Bureau Contact List).
