Professional development refers to continuing education and career training after a person has entered the workforce in order to help them develop new skills, stay up-to-date on current trends, and advance their career.
One-third of the workforce say they do nothing to upgrade or improve their current skill set. This means by taking advantage of professional development, continued education, and planning for your career, you’ve already got a leg up on a third of your peers.
By having opportunities to learn, increase your skill sets, and be current on industry best practices, professionals increase their value to their agencies while also increasing their agency's mission success.
Our offerings will help you or your team acquire and maintain federal certifications, develop occupation-specific skills, and comply with federal directives and laws to ensure you have essential training and development to improve your performance and enhance the delivery of federal services and benefits.
If DOI University does not have a professional development program that meets your organizational needs, we will work with you to design and develop a customized program which will meet you and your team’s professional development goals.
